Anderson Silva, Jon Jones and Junior dos Santos have received plenty of props for being the only UFC fighters to don the legendary Swoosh. However, it appears the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion isn’t nearly as stoked to have one of Nike’s biggest rivals advertising in their Octagon. Despite signing an endorsement deal with Reebok a couple of months back, former light heavyweight champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (Pictured) claims the UFC will not allow him to have Reebok plastered on his gear in his final fight for the promotion. “I’m sponsored by Reebok now and the UFC said I’m not allowed to wear Reebok in the cage, when the other fighters are sponsored by Nike and stuff,” Rampage revealed during Tuesday’s conference call. “Why can’t I have Reebok?” This is the latest in a long list of reasons why Rampage says he will never compete for the organization after his contract expires following his next contest. When asked what explanation the UFC gave him as to why he couldn’t sport Reebok, Rampage claimed to have no clue. “I think the answer my manager gave me was it wouldn’t be fair for the other sponsors. I don’t know. That’s all I heard,” he added. While Rampage was clearly agitated the UFC denied his sponsorship request, it appears Reebok isn’t the least bit fazed by it – despite the fact Rampage’s next outing will be on FOX’s national broadcast. “They down with me anyway,” Rampage boasted of his relationship with Reebok. “They like my fighting style, they like my attitude. They came out with these new shoes, it’s kinda like the ATV of training shoes. They know that I do a lot of training outside, trail running and stuff like that. I train in the shoe and it actually got me in some of the best shape I’ve ever been in. “They support me. They know that I’m probably gonna be doing more movies and stuff in the future. Who knows, I might go into boxing or somewhere else. They’ll still hang out with me. They’re not worried about the UFC. They don’t care. They’re not upset.” Rampage faces Glover Teixeira January 26th inside United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The light heavyweights co-headline the FOX broadcast.
