As expected, it didn’t take long for the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion to distance themselves from Nate Diaz’s (pictured) homophobic tweet. The UFC has indefinitely suspended the lightweight (pictured) for the insensitive post he issued Thursday afternoon. “We are very disappointed by Nate Diaz’s comments, which are in no way reflective of our organization,” the UFC expressed in a statement. “Nate is currently suspended pending internal investigation and we will provide further comment once the matter has been decided.” Just two days after Pat Healy revealed he tested positive for marijuana following last month’s submission victory over Jim Miller, which cost “Bam Bam” $130,000 in Fight Night bonuses, Diaz, one of the UFC’s most notorious medical marijuana smokers, came to Healy’s defense. Everything was fine until Diaz threw in the homophobic F-word. “I feel bad for pat Healy that they took a innocent mans money and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest *** in the world.. #*******************,” Diaz wrote. UFC president Dana White swiftly stepped in and told MMAJunkie, “[Diaz] will be either fined and suspended or cut for that tweet.” The UFC took a similar approach last month when Matt Mitrione made some non-politically correct statements about transgender fighter Fallon Fox. Mitrione was issued a temporary suspension and docked an undisclosed amount of money by the UFC, but was assigned his next opponent just 16 days after his rant.
