One of our early posts featured Shonie Carter refereeing a match that ended in a double knockout. This weekend, UFC 143 and the Super Bowl took place. In addition to these events, Hard Rock MMA 43 took place in Kentucky. Brandon Bishop and Braedon Ward were in round 1 of their match when this happened:
This is probably one of the weirdest things to happen in MMA, and it’s incredibly dangerous. Apparently, one of the hinges on the door had been damaged earlier and staff thought had been fixed properly. Fortunately, both fighters were able to walk away unscathed. The fight was ruled a no-contest, and both fighters received their win bonus.
