Chris Weidman Tells MMAJunkie “ I just want to make sure we both get in the fricken’ cage July 6,” he said. “I’m still worried about that.” The incident made the contender wonder whether there were other surprises in store – an injury, for instance, which not only would dash his dreams but give the UFC a conniption. ”I don’t want him to hear this interview and be like, ‘Oh, that’s a good idea,’” joked Weidman. “So don’t use this, Anderson.” I hope these two make it into the cage as well, gonna be a great fight.

Earlier this week, the UFC fined middleweight king Anderson Silva (pictured) a whopping $50,000 for skipping a media tour with some of Los Angeles’ largest press outlets. Silva has a simple explanation for bouncing from his pre-fight promotional duties in order to board a plane bound for his homeland of Brazil – he didn’t know about Tuesday’s media junket.

This is an odd tale about someone who has been given some incredible chances as a one-armed fighter in his career refusing to reciprocate and give someone else a chance. As a champion, you defend your belt. If Anderson Silva can defend against Chris Weidman, a fight Anderson doesn’t want, then Newell can defend his XFC lightweight belt to someone, anyone for the first time. He...
Everyone will say that this is ‘Anderson’s toughest matchup’, just like so many others before him. Then he will do some crazy ninja sh*t and people will be saying Weidman wasn’t that good anyway. I just appreciate the fact I get to watch the greatest MMA fighter of all time and I hope Weidman makes it a tough fight.

On last summers annual UFC 4th of July weekend card Anderson Silva made a statement by finishing Chael Sonnen in the 2nd round of their highly anticipated rematch. Silva finished him in such a way to guarantee that he'll never have to deal with Chael P. again.
Fast forward four days later. The talk about Silva's next opponent shifted between the always popular GSP super...
