Frank Shamrock and Dana White have never been good buddies. After Frank beat Tito Ortiz to defend his title for a 4th time, he left the UFC and said he’d never come back as long as Dana was running the show. No one really knows what happened, but the UFC mostly tries to erase Frank from the past. You’ve probably never seen an Unleashed episode, featured DVD, etc. that has a Frank Shamrock match in it. Dana White goes back and forth- sometimes Frank is an idiot, while sometimes there’s a chance Frank comes back to the UFC. When Zuffa bought Strikeforce, we (and others) thought that Frank Shamrock, Paul Daley, Josh Barnett, (and others) were basically done in US MMA. Perhaps the door isn’t slammed shut yet for Frank- or rather, it was never really slammed shut in the first place due to the weird relationship between Frank and Dana. Given that Frank acknowledges the business savvy of the UFC and has taken a more conciliatory tone, it’s not out ...
