Danica Patrick readily admits her rookie season in NASCAR hasn’t exactly set the world afire. Making the transition from IndyCar to stock cars can be difficult for anyone, and she’s aware that her results haven’t exactly been stellar. She was quoted in Auto Week: “I feel like we’ve been overall much faster than what our results have showed and performed better in the race than what our results have showed,” Patrick said on Friday at Kansas, where she is running both the Nationwide and Cup Series races this weekend. “We definitely had a pretty long stretch of bad luck through the summer, and I feel like that was maybe where we had the most speed.” Patrick is 10th in the Nationwide Series points and has finished in the top 10 just twice in 29 races (ninth at Bristol, eighth at Texas). “Everything from Elkhart to Daytona to Iowa, there were a bunch of races that things happened that were not completely out of my control but definitely not always in my control fully,” she said. “I feel...
