Mooresville, NC  - Coming off of a tough finish at Kansas Speedway, Dave Blaney and the entire Tommy Baldwin Racing team are looking forward to heading north to Richmond International Raceway (RIR), in Virginia. RIR’s D-shaped oval under the lights Saturday night brings even more excitement to both the fans and drivers. With only two practice sessions on Friday, followed by qualifying, the team has a lot of work cut out for them before this weekend’s Toyota Owners 400. Blaney’s history at Richmond: In 24 career starts at RIR, Blaney has one Top-5 (Fall, 2006) and two Top-10 finishes. With an average finish of 25.8, Blaney always looks forward to heading to the short track at Richmond. Blaney on Richmond:“It’s good to be heading to Richmond to race under the lights. The guys at the shop having been working hard all week to get this No. 7 SANY America Chevy ready for some short track racing. Let’s hope we can finish this race better than last week.” Crew Chief/Team Owner Tommy Baldwin on Richmond: “Richmond is one of my favorite tracks. My dad raced modifieds there so I’ve got great memories; and I always love racing under the lights.” Blaney by the numbers: Heading in to Richmond, Blaney is 29th in the points and 187 behind current leader Jimmie Johnson. Did you know?: Dave Blaney has competed in all three of NASCAR’s touring series – Cup, Nationwide and the Truck Series.
