Auto Club Speedway is a special place for Jimmie Johnson. The track is located in Fontana, California — Johnson’s home state — and it was the site of his first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory back in 2002.
Johnson now, through 18 starts at the 2-mile speedway, has amassed five victories (most among all drivers), and has only finished outside the top-10 four times at Auto Club Speedway. His career average finish is an insane 5.4.
Of course Johnson started the season very quickly by winning the Daytona 500, then following that up with two more top-10 finishes at Phoenix and Las Vegas.
