All that is separating Ricky Stenhouse Jr from a season in the #6 NASCAR Sprint Cup car of Roush-Fenway Racing car is sponsorship. Team owner Jack Roush recently said that he would bring back the car as soon as sponsorship was found. “As soon as I can find sponsorship for it, he’s good to go. The highest priority we have for this year in the meantime is to defend (Stenhouse’s) championship in the Nationwide series but hopefully we can find sponsorship and run the 6 car with him next year — and we will run some races with him in the 6 Cup car before this year is over.” Roush had to close the #6 car this season because sponsorship could not be found. David Ragan, who had drive the car, was released and allowed to seek other employment. The team also has races on the #17 car driven by Matt Kenseth which lack sponsorship for races. Kenseth won the Daytona 500 earlier this season and finished fifth and fourth in the final driver standings the last two seasons. He won three races at...
