It takes a really special person to put their life on the line and ignore the risks of auto racing for the ultimate adrenaline rush; it takes an even more special family to support their loved one in their pursuit of victory lane. Tonight our hearts are hurting for the family of NASCAR driver Jason Leffler.
Leffler was competing in a local short track sprint car race in New Jersey, when he was killed in a crash. The event was titled “Night of Wings” and it was a 25-lap race for a $7,000 prize.
Jason Leffler had just competed in last week’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Pocono, his first NASCAR start of 2013, albeit in a start and park role.
