DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Last November in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Jeff Gordon notched NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory No. 87. This February 24 in the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, the four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will attempt to win two consecutive in The Sunshine State as he begins his third decade in NASCAR’s premier division. The victory at Homestead allowed Gordon and the Drive To End Hunger team to carry momentum into the off-season. But with the introduction of NASCAR’s Gen-6 (Generation 6) car models for the 2013 tour, there was not much “down” time since the team was busy preparing a fleet of new No. 24 Chevrolet SS’s. “To have a great finish like we had at Homestead and take that into the off-season was a big plus and a big positive for us,” said Gordon. “It helped us stay energized through the off-season to get ready for this new season.
