Could it be true? Wouldn't that be ironic, especially how Tony Stewart was talking down about Dale Jarrett and his move to Toyota. Guess we shall wait and see.

I hope every Yota in the field blows up and never finishes another race.
Please read below. Because if by american you mean paying Mexicans and Chinese to build these cars then I guess you are right. at least Toyota still produces a its cars in the USA and pays american workers, and payroll taxes to the us govt. And nobody complains about Dodge which is owned by a german company.
Just because it has a Japanese name doesnt mean it cant be american or at lease more american than the american car companies that had left the US and is currently screwing the US worker.
( From USA today.com)
•Foreign cars made in the USA. Honda's Ohio-built Accord is 70% domestic parts. Toyota's Corolla is made in a California plant alongside General Motors models.
•American cars made abroad. Ford's hit Fusion sedan is made in Mexico; only half its parts are from the USA or Canada. GM pitches its small HHR sport utility and giant Suburban straight at the American market, but they, too, are built in Mexico. HHR has only 41% American and Canadian parts.
•Famous American names and foreign owners. More than three-quarters of the parts in Dodge's new Nitro SUV, which is assembled in Toledo, Ohio, are American or Canadian. But the profits go to Germany because Dodge is part of DaimlerChrysler. Chrysler Group, meanwhile, just became the first major automaker to announce it's going to make small cars for the U.S. market in China.
Toyota is just more advanced, ie, Lexus LS or IS, wants to win, ie, see above racing leagues and has a mean racing operation in SoCal that's expanding to NC to better serve its Nascar teams so it's just a matter of time...........Tony Stewart & Co have opportunities for international exposure w/Toyota (F-1 racing too) and better compensation & perks (LS series)
The best indication of the future is to look at the past to the present, ie, Truck series. Joe Gibbs Racing & its drivers will dominate down the road.

This has got to be the worst consideration JGR has ever, well, considered.
