Sunday was Hendrick Motorsports’ day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as Jimmie Johnson took the win in the Crown Royal Presents the Curtiss Shaver 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Big Machine Records to claim his fourth Brickyard win and the eighth for Hendrick Motorsports. “That victory lap, going around the track is really special,” Johnson said in victory lane. The win put Johnson in a tie with HMS teammate Jeff Gordon four most all-time wins at the track. Gordon also finished in the top-five at Indy, finishing fifth. Johnson and Gordon weren’t the only two Hendrick drivers in the top-five on Sunday. Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished fourth. Denny Hamlin started on the pole and was joined by Johnson up front, as Johnson moved into the second spot on lap four.
