Prior to Martinsville, Travis Kvapil was riding a streak of three consecutive top-25 finishes. Had it not been for a melted plug wire, he'd most likely be looking for his fifth straight top-25 this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. The driver of the No. 93 BK Racing Toyota is optimistic about renewing the string of good performances in this weekend's AAA Texas 500 and putting an exclamation point on the season.
Dr Pepper is returning as the primary sponsor on Kvapil's Toyota Camry this weekend. The paint scheme should receive a warm reception from the Lone Star State. The soft drink was founded in Waco, Texas, in 1885 and its corporate offices are in Plano, Texas, about 25 miles north of Dallas.
Kvapil has 10 previous Cup Series starts at Texas. His best finish is 18th place, which came in 2008. In his last race there, he started 37th and finished 38th. In his 12 Truck Series starts at the 1.5-mile oval, he has one win (2001), five top-five and seven top-10 finishes.
