FOX Sports/TNT analyst and former NASCAR driver Kyle Petty ripped Danica Patrick on Thursday, labeling her a “marketing machine” and not a racer. Strong words from Petty, the son of former driver “King” Richard Petty, who continued on his big dis of Danica: “Danica has been the perfect example of somebody who can qualify better than what she runs,” Petty said on a segment of SPEED’s NASCAR RaceHub show, via USA Today Sports. “She can go fast, but she can’t race. I think she’s come a long way, but she’s still not a race car driver. And I don’t think she’s ever going to be a race car driver.” Interviewer Matt Clark then asked Petty why Patrick wouldn’t ever be a race car driver in Petty’s eyes, his response was that it was ”too late to learn.”
