A few weeks ago former teammates Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano waged a war on Twitter about differences of opinion of Logano’s driving style. This week the feud reached a new level when Hamlin sent Logano’s No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion spinning into the wall on lap 349.
“It’s Bristol, but that’s ridiculous, it’s not — I feel like I race him clean all the time, and he’s going to do that. I understand the way he races now that he’s not my teammate and I will race him the same way he races me,” said Logano.
Logano was battling Jeff Gordon for the lead at the time of the bump, while Hamlin was sitting third. Logano slipped while trying to take the lead, and then contact ensued. After the race Hamlin explained that the twitter fight after Phoenix had nothing to do with his bump on Logano.
