Tony Stewart: Where There’s Smoke, There’s Fire

The man simply known as “Smoke,” Tony Stewart, picked a great time to win his first race of the season. A few weeks ago, Tony was questioning his Chase chances by down-playing his team’s worth to even get a Playoff spot. Now, he’s only seven points out of first place and reminding us why he is the only NASCAR driver to win a Winston Cup and a Sprint Cup. While other drivers such as Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch ran out of gas, Tony carefully conserved fuel to win his 40th Cup race of his career. Stewart showed the savvy of a wily veteran who saved his best for when it has counted most. Tony is not letting one win creating arrogance: “One day doesn’t change the whole season,” was his response when asked about his title chances now.
