When it comes to steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs, the PGA Tour has been moving as slowly as a 30-foot uphill putt. But commissioner Tim Finchem yesterday indicated that a rule should be in place by the end of the year, with testing to follow.
Well we all knew this would happen. Eventually the world of steroids was going to make its way into the world of golf. Maybe it's because of Tiger's bulging biceps at the U.S. Open on Sunday. Why I don't know. Golf shouldn't focus on this issue at all; I don't think they should even mention steroids and performance-enhancing drugs. In a sport that evolves so much more then strength, Golf isn't making its way to the deep end. Baseball was ruined because of steroids, and I would hate to see it happen to Golf.
