During the NBA Playoffs, we were blitzed by Lakers "fans" talking trash about the Nuggets players and their fans. Since I've split my time between Denver and Los Angeles for the past several years, I've learned a thing or two about Lakers "fans" that I'll share with you all today.
But before I throw gasoline on the fire that's already erupted between Lakers "fans" and Nuggets fans, I will give Lakers "fans" one morsel of credit. Like ...

Kobe's good, there's no denying it, but unlike some of the other great players in the NBA, he's also a big d0uche.

You sound just like a Nuggets "fan"... "boo hoo, the Nugs never do anything right, the rest of the league doesn't play fair!"

Also in fairness to the "Thuggets", Phil Jackson beat George Karl, plain and simple, hell George Karl is the only coach to lose badly with NBA Stars in the Olympics, go figure.

Anyway, I agree with reason number three...to an extent. I'm sure there were some Laker fans out there that didn't like Shaq, even when he was winning titles with the Lakers but for the most part, when he was there and winning rings along-side Kobe, Laker fans weren't complaining. Maybe he was boring, lazy, over-weight, and not a hard worker (doubt all that.) ...he must have been doing something right, right!?! But I do think for the most part, Laker fans do respect what Shaq did for that team. At least I would hope so.

I like the Lakers and I'm happy to see them in the Finals (if it can't be my Suns) but David Stern needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut, there is already too much conspiracy in the NBA...he doesn't need to add to it with a silly comment like that.

10) The courtside seats are empty at the begining cuz traffic is a BITCH in case you haven't noticed. At the 3rd quarter everyone is trying to take a piss or get beer... both lines are fairly extensive.
9) I for one, have said for QUITE A WHILE, that Kwame "Butterfingers" Brown is a hot piece of GARBAGE. I couldn't wait to get him out of here no matter WHO they acquired for his overpaid punk ass. As for Caron Butler, I have admitted (and will now in an open forum) that I was wrong about that one and I got the Jannero Pargo one wrong too> I stand by my comments about Kareem Rush though.
8) The conspiracy theory about the Grizzlies GM being a Laker fan is just complete BULLSHIT. Being a moron doesn't make you a conspirator.
7) You leave Vic The Brick ALONE or I will go Britney on you. He is a revered figure in sports talk radio along with my homeboys Petros & Money. I have no doubt that since he didn't bring his poncho to BOS that is why we lost out there. Thank god he wore it LAST night.
6) Fake tits occupy L.A. as a WHOLE... they just get to be viewed in a more widely viewed WAY at Staples when everyone brings their bimbo gf's as their dates trying to impress them. Trust me, nobody is more annoyed than me when I hear a chick yelling "GO KOBE!" and that's the only thing she knows how to say thruout the ENTIRE GAME. I actualy turn down VIP suite tickets because I can't stand the audience that is up there. People who are there to be social should have a party at a BAR, NOT AT STAPLES IN THE MIDDLE OF SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT GAMES. Jesus H can I get an AMEN? UGH.
5) For the record, there are no real Clippers fans .. unless they are people who like disappointment .. like say, the 49ers fans, for example. I for one, have NEVER and WILL NEVER be a Clippers fan. The people who are Clippers fans are people who, for 5 minutes, get to soak in the revelry of being at Staples Center for the experince and they usually don't know the 1st thing about basketball IN GENERAL (*except Clipper Daryll - Holla at your Girl!) Being a Clippers fan AND a Lakers fan is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. It's like backing the Bruins AND the Trojans on the same wknd. It just doesn't work like that.
4) I have had League Pass since the dawn of time, and I have a custom made Luke Walton Lakers jersey DRESS. What does one thing have to do with the other?
3) I actually DID like Shaq .. when he was a) JOVIAL, b) IN SHAPE and c) NOT THROWING EVERYONE UNDER THE BUS FOR HIS SHORTCOMINGS. He's turned into a hater of the worst kind and a hater of everyone in the league. I've YET to hear him say something good about someone besides Amare Stoudamire this season.
2) Where do I begin with how many ways from Sunday this is total crap? First of all, 5 yr olds should not be sitting courtside, I don't care HOW rich their daddies are. Nobody can appreciate the game til they're at least 10 and by then, they've been exposed to worse things than "That m-f'er jacked my shot". As for us all "defending Kobe", I STILL do not believe he raped that girl but I am the FIRST PERSON to shred his ass if he doesn't show up in a game or starts screwing up. He's supposed to be the Magic Man and if he's not, nobody else comes with it either so it effs up the entire team dynamic. He has every right to be pissed at his teammates if he's doing all the work and they're just hanging out (Hey LAMAR, I'm TALKIN TO YOU!) or stinkin up the joint. Curt Schilling can screw off for all that crap he spewed on his blog over the wknd. I have great season seats where I constantly see him praise the team and their efforts or pull someone aside and give them a nugget of suggestion for strategy on upcoming plays.
BTW, that DUI thing was the funniest goddamn chant THIS SEASON short of last night the chant my girlfriend Joanna & I started of "WHEEL-CHAIR, WHEEL-CHAIR, WHEEL-CHAIR" when Rondo had to be helped off. LMAO. We're clever, dammit. Give credit where credit is due.
1) I saw the Bill Laimbeer foul and he elbowed him. It wasn't a RAJA BELL CLOTHESLINING kinda obvious but it was there. YOU watch the tape. As for the rest of that twisted conspiracy, nobody likes the Pistons. Wait, let me rephrase that: Nobody likes THE PALACE AT AUBURN HILLS. As a writer I PRAAAAAAYED that I wouldn't have to go out to the ghetto of Detroit to cover a Finals with Lakers against the Pistons. Ever since the Jermaine O'Neal/Ron Artest free for all, that place has a scarlett letter. As for Portland, that was so long ago dude and Portland was not what it is now, so of course nobody was going to jump at the chance to rush right out to OREGON. People want BIG CITIES to play BIG GAMES IN. Places you can FLY PEOPLE IN and it doesn't cost a FORTUNE for the AIRFARE. Places that can accomodate a week's worth of activites. Why do you think they pick such fun places for the All-Star game?!
That's all, sorry for taking up so much space, Ya'All. :-)
