2006-07 NBA Top 30 Salaries

Two things immediately jump out at me here.

1) The player with the third highest salary in the league is RETIRED. The fourth highest paid player in the NBA is being paid $35 million over the next two years from a team he is no longer playing for.

2) Half of the players on this list are well past their primes. I guess that's how contracts in the NBA go. Players get signed for longer periods of time and get paid more per year than in other sports.

That's the game in the NBA -- get old enough that you can hold up your team for a longer contract than you and everyone else knows you deserve. I was amazed that Jalen Rose is #13!

Where am I on this list? Yardbarker pays me 13 grrr per post.
