Found June 26, 2012 on Hardcourt Mayhem:

The Cleveland Cavaliers tried trading all their draft picks to New Orleans to get the No. 1 pick. The Hornets would respond with a quick, “NO!” Now the Cavs are looking to do the same with No. 2 pick, which is held by the Charlotte Bobcats.

Anybody is a good option here with Thomas Robinson, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist or Bradley Beal. The Cavs’ main targets are Beal and MKG, who could fall at the No. 4 pick to them. However, if Charlotte decides to go with MKG and Wizards with Beal, Cleveland could find themselves in a hole.

To ensure nothing goes wrong, the Cavaliers are looking to offer their No.4, 24 and 34th picks to the Bobcats for the No. 2 pick. Tweets John Telich:

Hearing Cavs /Bobcats talking. #Cavs want #2 pick..would give #4 #24 #34 #NBADraft

It’s 50-50 here. The Bobcats do like trading down and have hinted at it. However, there are rumors that they’re pursuing more towards Harrison Barnes and Thomas Robinson, which leaves the Cavs taking the players they like.

We’ll see what happens, but I don’t think the trade will happen.

Thus, they are enticing teams to take Tyrius Thomas if they want that #2 pick via Michael Lee. According to multiple sources, the Bobcats [...]

Bobcats like No. 2, but will listen to all offers

Bobcats general manager Rich Cho says it will take ''something enticing'' for the team to trade away the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA draft. So far nothing tantalizing enough has come along. That could change before the start of Thursday night's NBA draft though. While Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins says the team ''likes the...

Bobcats open to deal for No. 2 pick

General manager Rich Cho says it will take ''something enticing'' for the Bobcats to trade away the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA draft. Cho won't say exactly what that entails. For now the Bobcats haven't received a tantalizing enough offer and still own the rights to the No. 2 pick, although that could certainly change before the start of Thursday night...

Bobcats Trade Corey Maggette to Pistons for Ben Gordon

The Charlotte Bobcats have agreed to trade forward Corey Maggette to the Detroit Pistons for guard Ben Gordon and protected first-round pick for the 2013 NBA Draft, according to Chad Ford of ESPN.com. Personally, I think this deal definitely helps both sides. Charlotte will have a lottery-protected pick in 2013,  top-eight protected in 2014, top-one protected in 2015 and an unprotected...

Pistons trade Ben Gordon and Lottery-protected 1st rounder to Bobcats

Ten years earlier, Joe Dumars convinced Michael Jordan to take Jerry Stackhouse off his hands and send a younger, less expensive one-dimensional player back to the Detroit Pistons. That player was Rip Hamilton, who blossomed into an all-time Pistons great, learned to be a solid perimeter defender, and gave the Pistons financial flexibility. Fast forward [...]

Bobcats may be trading down from No. 2 slot

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- New Charlotte coach Mike Dunlap says the idea of trading down from the No. 2 spot in the NBA draft to acquire extra picks "makes a lot of sense" for a young team like the Bobcats. After finishing 7-59 and with the worst winning percentage (.106) in NBA history, the Bobcats have a variety of holes to fill this offseason. Dunlap recognizes that....

Bobcats Acquire Gordon, Future First Round Pick For Maggette

The Bobcats have acquired Ben Gordon and a lottery protected 2013 pick in a trade with the Pistons for Corey Maggette.

Will Charlotte's trade on Tuesday impact their draft strategy?

The short answer is no. If you look at the picture even Ben Gordon thinks my headline was a feeble attempt to link a relatively meaningless trade that took place late last night to the NBA Draft tomorrow. The long answer, though, is that Charlotte's trade with Detroit for Ben Gordon may justify the draft pick they were about to make anyways a little bit more. If Charlotte...
