Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesOmer Asik is looking to be on a lot of teams’ radars for being a helpful center. Though his numbers don’t show much when he came off the bench for the Chicago Bulls last season, averaging only about three points and five rebounds per game, he’s a good defensive center for your team.
The Houston Rockets are looking to make a big run for the 25-year-old, as they are planning to offer the seven-footer $8 million per year, according to the Chicago Tribune. With that, it immediately takes the Bulls out of the run for re-signing their center.
Many have been saying that it’s crazy that Asik is getting paid this much, but then again, look at what happened DeAndre Jordan last season. Centers like Asik are starting to become more noticeable and the Rockets are looking to take advantage with their salary cap flexibility.
