While the 1st round of the Eastern Conference playoffs were boring the Western Conference was not, well as least for half of the series. The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs both beat their opponents in 4 games. The Thunder pulled out two close games at home and then cruised to victory on the road. The Thunder’s big three of Durant, Westbrook, and Harden look unstoppable now. The Spurs just blew out the Jazz, none of the game were really close. The Spurs depth really showed and Tony Parker is playing his best basketball of his career right now. Both Los Angeles teams won their series in 7 games, after they have a 3-1 series lead. The Lakers won because of one player Kobe Bryant. If the Lakers big play like they mean it every game the Lakers could go a ways. Despite nagging injuries to their best players the Clippers still won their 3rd playoff series in franchise history. Check out the schedule for Thunder and Lakers and Spurs and Clippers below. Kobe Bryant isn’t leading the Los Angeles Lakers anywhere…so what makes him a great leader?

Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers will be hosting the Denver Nuggets for game 7 of the first round. That’s right! One of the greatest of all-time is struggling to oust a team with no all-stars. You would think there would be some type of caveat as to why Kobe and the Lakers can’t get it done. But their just failing (JaMarcus Russell style…I probably went too far right there)....

Do not ask Kobe Bryant if the Lakers can guard the Thunder

Is asking Kobe Bryant can the Lakers guard the Thunder minutes after it was fairly obviously that they couldn’t in game 1 an unfair question? We’re not sure. All we’re sure of is that if you ask Kobe Bryant that question, he’ll leave the interview. H/T Ball Don’t Lie

Kobe: I don't take charges

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Lakers star Kobe Bryant says he doesn't take charges, and he's got a reason for it. Column: Bryant, Lakers need to get swagger back

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM DAHLBERG AP Sports Columnist Kobe Bryant hit his only shot that really mattered, then celebrated by slapping hands with Justin Timberlake. In the closing seconds of a Game 7 playoff win, the stars were aligning in Los Angeles once again, just like old times. Except this was a first-round playoff series against a seriously less talented opponent. And...

Parker vs. Paul should be awesome... again

Four years ago today, the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Hornets were in the middle of a seven game series that was both entertaining and not.  Only one of their 2008 Western Conference Semifinal series was decided by less than ten points and more were decided by closer than 21 points with the home team winning every game except Game Seven, which the Spurs won in New Orleans...

Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant & Kobe Bryant’s postgame look

In game one of the Western Conference semi-finals between the Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. One team came out ready and fully engaged, the other… Lakers get blown out in game one, 90-119. Turnovers and no defense of the pick & roll were huge factors plus the Thunder shot extremely well. But that’s how [...]
