3 Championship Lineups for the Houston Rockets

Remember when Ron Artest declared that anything less than a championship would be a "failure" for the Houston Rockets? Well, lo and behold, things aren't looking that easy for Houston. The Rockets are currently first in the Southwest Division, but they are just 7-4, and the Big Three have struggled. Yao Ming, after easily averaging 22+ points the past three seasons, is scoring at a 16.9 clip, and Ron Artest, is shooting just 34% from the field. Tracy McGrady has struggled especially. Yao, Artest and McGrady were all injured on the same night against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, but with McGrady's history of letting the injuries nag, what happened to McGrady is troubling. With the Rockets up 56-50 at the beginning of the third quarter, McGrady got the ball at the top of the key, made a shot fake, and came up limp. Although T-Mac's pessimism with regards to his health grates a lot of Houston fans, he described the pain as "back to square one, like before even surgery." Although McGrady's knee turned out to be better than once thought, considering T-Mac's chronic injury history and subpar performance this season, you have to wonder if it's time for Coach Rick Adelman to consider recalibrating his lineups to give the Rockets the best chance of advancing deep into the playoffs.
