Here we go again. Celtics have waived two players, which means they have positioned themselves not just for picking up free agents but also a trade that involves multiple players. This move came at a time when the rumor mill has just stopped spinning following two undebatably great performances against top 4 teams in the East. Celtics nation would have welcomed all those trade rumors like a week ago, but now that it looks like we're getting it together with the return of Bradley, those rumors will surely hurt. Yet, most of your concern is probably unfounded, and here's why:

1. Media will spread even the slightest rumor because it generates hits: How many DeMarcus Cousins related articles have you come across recently? Plenty, right? Yet when Sherrod Blakely added some more fuel to that fire, we have all clicked on that link to read what new development could have occurred. There wasn't any real substance to it...

Here at Celtics life we have an obligation to stay on top of these stories, so take this for what it is. NBA on NBC Boston is reporting that the C's are very involved with the Kings on Cousins (which we already knew), but that the hold-up is Danny Ainge's hesitancy to include Avery Bradley (he'd rather include Courtney Lee). Gethin Coolbaugh had the story tonight.
Sources say that the Celtics are working on a deal involving several players in a trade for the Sacramento Kings' mercurial center, one that may soon be complete.
Is Demarcus Cousins on his way to Boston?
When the Celtics waived two prospects Kris Joseph and Jarvis Varnado earlier Sunday morning, it was seen as minor cost cutting moves. Both of their contracts were about to become guaranteed and the Celtics didn’t want to deal with it.
That may not have been the case reports CSN’s A. Sherrod Blakely.

After some minutes of playing around with names in our heads, Blakely brought us a familiar name:
#Celticstalk: The name that keeps coming up with everyone...
He talks about the talented Kings teams of the 1990s, teams led by Chris Webber and Mike Bibby and says he wants to be part of restoring that level of success.
“That’s like a trophy to me,” Cousins said. “Taking a team no players really want to go to, a team considered the worst in the league, and through all the struggle and all the negativity, they found the way to win...
The flurry of so-called “news” surrounding a potential trade for DeMarcus Cousins, which went so far as the predict a deal could bring the Sacramento Kings center to Boston by the end of Sunday night, appears to be over. Cousins will not be coming to Boston, at least not before the Kings visit the TD Garden at the end of the month.
Sam Amick of USA Today completely shut the door...
After a flurry of chatter to the contrary Sunday night, the latest reports say Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins is not coming to Boston.
The talk started after the Celtics waved Kris Joseph and Jarvis Varnado Sunday. Some speculated that was a move to free up cap space as the team positioned itself for a major deal, because waving Joseph caught many off guard.
Once that ball started...
The agent for Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins met with team president Geoff Petrie on Monday and didn’t demand a trade, USA TODAY Sports has learned.
Cousins has said during his most frustrated times that he wants out and that rival teams continue to attempt to pry the talented third-year big man away from the Kings. But his agent, Dan Fegan, did not make a trade request...
Celtics fans cannot seem to get DeMarcus Cousins off their minds, no matter how dead that trade rumor might be. The salary complications and Cousins’ behavioral issues have been debated ad nauseam, so it is not worth going into those massive obstacles any further.
One thing that has been repeated so often in the last few weeks, to the point that it has almost been accepted as fact...
According to CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely, the latest buzz around a trade for temperamental big man DeMarcus Cousins is the Kings seeking multiple young players and draft picks.
While the Celtics could pull off such a move, in a package based around Avery Bradley and Jared Sullinger with others such as Courtney Lee, Fab Melo, Brandon Bass, etc., Danny Ainge should walk away and...
After several rumors and reports this weekend speculated that the Celtics were in hot pursuit of troubled Sacramento Kings center Demarcus Cousins, USA Today’s NBA writer Sam Amick is reporting that a deal between the two teams won’t happen:
DeMarcus Cousins is not going to the Celtics. Teams continue to be told that he’s not available. That is all.
