PLAYERS: Kwame Brown

Everyday, I dig through the Sports Blogtopia to find the best posts to share with you, my loyal readers, like a father bringing home the bacon (or something like that). Now, I'm Bringin' Home the Blogs...Now on his fourth team, Kwame Brown may be fighting for his NBA career. That is, if he shows the desire to be an NBA player, writes EMPTY THE BENCH. So maybe I was presumptuous with that "fighting" word.JOE SPORTS FAN gave Tyson Gay with his own MySpace page, and look at all the sports celebrities that stopped by!I'm often approached on the streets by adoring fans who ask, "Hey, Ron, if you were a sports legend, what would you do?" Why, help a mob family buy my former team, of course! THE SPORTS POINT has the story of the soccer player who did just that. Finally, today marks the end of July, and all I can say is "finally." RUMORS AND RANTS has the thirty-one reasons that really made it suck.

It Keeps Getting Better In Detroit

Motown is having a tough time lately. The Big Three are teetering on extinction, unemployment is skyrocketing, and home prices have plunged. Meanwhile, the city?s mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, turned out to be a bigger disappointment than Kwame Brown, serving jail time and resigning following a ...

A Suggestion for Topps

You know, I want to be excited by this. It looks like they even got Marvin from Pulp Fiction. You know, the guy they accidently shoot and have to call Harvey Keitel to mop up the blood. Well, I don't see a credit for Back on Topps on his imdb.com page, but that really looks like him.I also like the reference to the "cocaine out of a bread truck," though if we remember...

Pau Gasol to Lakers trade a done deal

A local Memphis newspaper is reporting that a deal between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Lakers is a done deal and will be announced shortly. The Grizzlies will send Pau Gasol and a future second round NBA Draft pick to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie, the draft rights to Pau Gasol's brother Marc and future NBA Draft first round picks in 2008 and 2010.

Did Grizzlies know something we didn't?

Last season the Grizzlies were absolutely ripped by most media members and fans for trading Pau Gasol to the Lakers for Jarvis Crittenton, Kwame Brown, Aaron Mckie, and Marc Gasol. Many believed that the Grizzles basically bent over for Laker GM Mitch Kupchak by giving away their best player for the raw Crittenton and uninspiring Brown. It is becoming clearer now that this trade...

Smush Parker, Kwame Brown and the Kobe Bryant Effect

Yesterday, the Clippers gained some salary cap room by renouncing their rights to Smush Parker, who has played for six NBA teams since 2002-03. One of the best testaments to Kobe Bryant's greatness is that he led the Lakers to the playoffs twice despite having Parker as the starting point guard and Kwame Brown as the starting center. Point guard and center are arguably the...

Grizzlies sign Iranian Center Hamed Haddadi :: Fantasy Analysis

I've been meaning to link to this for a while... The Grizzles have signed Iranian Center Hamed Haddadi. [via Upside and Motor] As you have probably read somewhere else (I know I've seen it a few dozen times), Haddadi was the only player to average a double-double (16.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocks) in the Beijing Olympics. Evidently, he also counts The Horse Whisperer...

Lakers Looking At Webber

With Andrew Bynum out for two months the Lakers are looking at trying to get Chris Webber or PJ Brown. They already have center Chris Mihm out in addition to Bynum. The only big men they have are Kwame Brown, Steven A. Smith’s best buddy, and undersized Ronny Turiaf. The addition of Webber woul...

Lakers Still Looking At Kidd

The LA Lakers are 16 and 10, the bench is playing well and Andrew Bynum is one of the top 5 centers in the NBA but they still want Jason Kidd. They are trying to get Kidd with Kwame Brown, Radmonovic, and Farmar. Kwame Brown’s contract is expiring so that would give the nets some [...]
