The Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA’s D-League squad, held open tryouts yesterday and saw lots of action.

Don Wiberg of Santa Cruz–at 76–was the oldest Warrior hopeful at the tryouts Sunday morning. Wiberg played college ball at Cal Tech — Wiberg said he couldn’t resist the S.C. Warriors’ claim that it would welcome anyone over 18 who was willing to pay the $100-125 entry fee.

Surprisingly, he got cut after the first day.
