i dont like it he is too much like what we already have, im not about signing players for the heck of it, letsspend money on guys that can actually help our team, like josh smith

Did you read the article? The only way I see the Sixers going after Maggette is if they don't get Smith or Brand. Then what is the question?

id rather get nobody than waste money on maggette

If they don't get Brand or Smith, and it's starting to seem as if they won't, the Sixers should not go after Maggette. While Maggette can be a top scorer on an average team, he moves this team no farther than the first round, if they even make it, of the playoffs.

The reason that Smith or Brand would have been worth big dollars is because either of them made the second round of the playoffs a possibility. Also, with either, making the playoffs seems a certainty. With Maggette, the team does not improve, because even more crowded at the 2-3 spot (with players who aren't actually twos), AND takes themselves away from the table for what looks like a really good FA class next year.

That would be a terrible idea unless they get rid of Iggy. Why do we need 4 small forwards (Iggy, Thad, Carney, and Maggette).

we better not get maggette we should put all our money into smith

I don't think that Smith is a good fit here either. Thad is going to break into the starting lineup this season and he and Smith have Identical playing styles. Obviously Smith has more experience but give Thad some time and he has the upside to be Smith. If they're going to go after anyone they need to go after Brand. He's the only player that will dramatically improve this team on a daily basis. Can he bring them a championship I don't know but he is definitely the most attractive player still available.

I agree with you on the thad young thing but I must say that Brand does not fit our system we are a running team and brand is more of a half court player plus coming off a knee injury I dont think he can run up and down the court with us. cant risk all that money on a question mark

Think of miller smith and iguadala up top thats great magette if you think about it doesn't fit nearly as well if the 76ers have smith they have more fire

your crazy we just drafted a true powerfoward and have jason smith, reggie evans, and thaddeus young. I love louis williams and andre miller but for now their is no shooting guard that can acually shoot. Iggy and wille green have improved but i think maggette is better than they will ever be right now. Maggette isnt great but I like him and thaddeus at the 2 and 3 spots . If iggy goes to say a team like the warriors hes the second or third option lets make moves.

dont get me wrong I like iggy and he is a great defender but hes not a true number 2 because of his average shooting. I like thaddeus at the 3 he played with alot of maturity and has moves in the paint. He could be our tayshaun prince . I hate prince but hes a great role player .

Riverj20 miller smith and iggy all good yet we still have no pure shooter. The sixers can run with anyone now but when they cant fast break the have no half court offense thats why maggette makes more sense he can shoot better than our shooting guards and he can still run. And we finally drafted a true power foward 252 no undersized bullshit thats why Maxiell ate the sixers up in that playoff series .

i agree maggette isnt worht as much as he is gonna get i would rather have noone in that case or sign a couple of project type players. Plus Magette doesnt always play defense which wouldnt fit well with the Sixers.
