As part of AirTran's partnership with the Orlando Magic, the company will have The AirTran Flight Deck in the new Amway Center set to open for the 2010-11 season
AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), announced today that is has become the official airline of the Orlando Magic. The Orlando-based airline is also a "Champions of the Community" partner for the new Amway Center.
The multi-year partnership begins this season and includes: team and facility access, brand recognition visibility, and category exclusivity. Additionally, AirTran Airways will also support Orlando Magic community programming, which focuses on literacy, health and wellness, and the arts, with a special emphasis on the Parramore neighborhood surrounding the new Amway Center.
"We are so proud to partner with the Orlando Magic," said Bob Fornaro, Chairman, President and CEO of AirTran Airways. "The hometown team and the hometown airline are the perfect combination. We look forward to a long and successful partnership."
With the opening of the new Amway Center for the 2010-2011 season, AirTran Airways will also have a first-of-its-kind brand integrated space -- The AirTran Airways Flight Deck -- located in the inner bowl of the arena viewable by all fans.
"We are excited to have AirTran Airways, a local Orlando-based company, join the Magic family as a Champions of Community partner," Orlando Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins said. "AirTran Airways represents the quality and excellence we look for in developing partnerships. We believe this relationship will be mutually beneficial and will provide AirTran Airways a unique opportunity to deliver a direct, positive message to our fan-base and beyond."
AirTran Airways serves more destinations from Orlando than any other airline, recently adding flights to Nassau, Bahamas, Montego Bay, Jamaica, Aruba, and Key West. The airline offers Business Class on every aircraft, is the winner of the prestigious Airline Quality Rating, and is the only major airline with Wi-Fi on every flight.
