The article makes some great points about Rondo improving, etc., but that's not really the point. The point is that the C's have three years max before Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and/or KG become too old to contribute substantially. While Rondo is an excellent prospect, the C's need someone NOW. Rondo isn't NOW, he's three to five years away. BTW -- all the stats pulled from Rondo's performance in the last 20 games of the season are worthless. No one should put much stock in the stats of a team that was tanking in a bid to get Oden or Durant.

I don't think Rondo can help at point guard in the post season, but for the regular season he will be fine. I think you'll see Allen, KG, and Pierce bringing the ball up once they start playoff games. The other PG's you compared his PER too aren't really good company. He'll need to be much better this year. But, at least the majority of his jump shots will be wide open this year, due to the pressence of the big 3. He still is a point guard who lacks at the foul line.

There is nothing out there for PGs. Let Allen carry a lot of the ball handling load and Rondo can play a solid supporting role with a lot of energy.

I am not so sure either of you really watched Rajon in college or his first year in the pros - his problem is not managing a team at crunch time -
