Big and burly and fearsome and tough and effective. Elvin
Hayes, power forwards, all that nonsense.
In a way, it might be the easiest position out there. Hear
me out.
Sure, Dennis Rodman or Reggie Evans(notes) might be out there to do
terrible things to your lower half, but you also don't have to guard centers,
or chase around small forwards.
You get to set screens on little guys, and get an open shot
as a result. And if your team's 7-footer stinks, and most team's 7-footer does
stink, you get the low post all to yourself.
It's a wonder why I didn't make it in this league as a
4-man. Geesh.
Just kidding, Elvin Hayes. I like saying your full name, all
at once, Elvin Hayes. It's no picnic, working as a power forward, Elvin Hayes.
