The fact that the Mike Bibby rumors are heating up again involving a deal with Cleveland really intrigues me. I think Bibby would compliment LeBron so well by allowing James to add some post up to his game. Plus new found big time player Daniel Gibson could relax and play the shooting guard spot off of the bench for another year with Bibby providing over 35 minutes running the team at the point.
The down side is giving up Drew Gooden in return. Gooden had some solid series performances in their finals run last year. The Cavs would have to replace the offensive rebounding that he supplied, which would be a tough task. Replacing Gooden would not only involve re-signing Anderson Varejao who would need to step up a notch, but also either making another small deal at power forward, or signing another bottom tier free agent like P.J. Brown, Malik Allen, Dale Davis, or Michael Sweetney.
I think it might be worth the risk. However, if Ilgauskas went down due to injury they might leave themselves really short on the boards. Stay tuned Cavs fans.
