Bowen snubs cp3 for all-defensive first team

ok, so I don't regularly post things in the yard, I don't have a fancy blog, and normally I'm just here checking out b diddy and melo and anything in the nba section really.

But I just checked this out and I gots to get a little opinionated about it.

Personally I don't know how Bruce Bowen got his 'amazing defensive player' title but its somehow stuck with him enough to have them put a 'guard/forward' position into the defensive first team just for him. Firstly, Bruce Bowen isn't a great defender, maybe good but not great. He's more of a dirty dirty player who plays on a great defensive team (which is why Tim Duncan is deservingly also on the all-defensive first team). If you type Bruce Bowen into YouTube I think there's one video that isn't a mix of him doing the dirty.

Back to my point, if you look at the votes, Chris Paul had 26 points, the next highest of real guards after Kobe and should have been on the first team. Then the numbers kind of ruin my argument because if Bruce Bowen was a forward it would've bumped Timmy to the second team, but thats the voters fault not mine.

How CP3 only had 26 points is beyond me though, the guy had atleast one steal in every single game of the season. Think about that, its ridiculous. If Marcus Camby (who I have love for) has the third most votes just for his stats then Chris Paul needs a little more love.

Speaking of stats, Bruce Bowen averaged 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks this season (under his career averages of 0.9 and 0.4) which are only slightly better than Ryan Bowen's averages of 0.6 and 0.2. Now I know what your thinking, on-ball defense is a major factor in voting (not that numbers are irrelevant), hence kobe's selection. Well, in the conference semis, Chris Paul is averaging 26 points and 10 assists on 55% shooting. and big players regularly put up good numbers against san antonio at that guard/forward position (i'll admit thats just by memory - no stats there).

And as a foot note, I was extremely surprised that Josh Smith and AK47 didn't get more votes. Maybe that's just because I've been watching Kirelenko stop my Lakers the last 2 games but Josh Smith has been beastley all season.

Feel free to share your own opinion.
