Gary Payton has said he thinks he can help the Celtics. The Detroit game showed the Celtics weakness when Rondo is out of the game against teams that can press on defense. Payton may just be what the Celtics need.

The surgery is not career-ending traditionally except for the fact that Zo is 37 and already decided that this would be his last year. It's too bad that Zo got sick during his prime, and now that his career is over after this injury we'll have to reminisce about the better days of Zo.

Last night was a heady night for those on The Crack Staff @ Perkisabeast.com. It was our annual holiday excursion to the TDBG, one the younger pups here at Perkisbeast.com were relishing an oppurtunity to participate in. Ladies and Gentlemen, Trust us, this night, we did not disappoint.

Shaq Named in His Own Mitchell Report

Considering Alonzo Mourning is most likely done for the season, now is the time Shaq needs to shut up all the pundits and show he has what it takes to put a team on his back (along with D-Wade) and actually make his 20 million per season seem acceptable. One thing Shaq has not lost is his sense of humor. After Wednesday's loss to the Hawks, Shaq revealed he has been playing under...

Let's start off by saying that when you are still too pissed off to sleep at 2:00 AM because of a basketball game then you obviously have bigger probems than the Celtics losing their third game of the season. That being said, please allow me a moment to hate

Basketball Injuries: The Pain of a Sprained Ankle

Caught the tail end of the New Jersey Nets @ Miami Heat third quarter. With 0.3 tenths of a second left in the quarter, New Jersey Nets swingman Antoine Wright landed badly on his right ankle (which may effectively keep him out of action for the next few weeks based on the fact that he had to be carried to the locker room by a couple of his teammates). Watching Wright lying...

Boston Runs Over Bulls 107-82

The Big 3 were big, the C's bench played fantastically, but the story of this game was Boston's defense. Only one Bulls starter cracked the 10-point barrier - Ben Gordon (with 19). Heinrich and Joe Smith were each held to 2 points, with Nocioni and Deng each scoring 8. Just another terrible shooting night for Chicago at 36% as a team. Boston, on the other hand, shot 44% from...

While the Celtics are yearning for some challenges in their schedule, they likely circled last Wendesday's Detroit game and this Orlando game on the calendar severval weeks ago. Billups Sinks Boston 87-85

As soon as the game was over, my buddy Chris (who's a Spurs fan) sent me a text message: "I want to see these 2 teams in the conference finals". Me too, Chris. Me too. All the credit in the world to the Pistons, and specifically Chauncey Billups, who knocked down two free-throws with a tenth of a second left to seal the win, 87-85. They gave the Celtics everything they had and
