Found May 15, 2008 on Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.: Yardbarker Blogger Network
Once again for the second series in a row, the Celtics will try to close out an opponent in a game 6 on the road. The Celtics have yet to win on the road in 5 tries and hopefully the 6th time is a charm. The momentum is in the Celtics favor as they are coming off of one of their best efforts in the playoff in game 5. The Celtics can win on the road. They were the best road team in the regular season. They won big pressure games in Detroit, LA, and the Texas Triangle and so we know they are capable of winning under pressure on the road. Why they haven't been able to get it done in the playoffs is anyone's guess. Hopefully they will build on the rebounding and defensive effort from game 5 to get a win in this game as well. Rondo's play was key to game 5 and will once again be needed if the Celtics want to win this game on the road. Unfortunately, in past games on the road, Rondo has struggled. Hopefully he has turned the corner and will come out with a strong gam...

Rondo Comes Up Big as Celtics Go Up 3-2 in Series

It was a good omen right from the start of this game as Perk won the tip although the first minute was sloppy on both sides with a 24 second violation on each team and a defensive 3 second violation on KG. The Cavs came out strong to begin the game rushing out to an 18-9 lead in the first 8 minutes. The Cavs held a 23-18 lead at the end of the first quarter. It seemed like more of...

KG's Preparation

Doc and Paul talk about how frustrated KG was headed into last night's big win where he stepped up. "He's Nuts" -Doc Rivers

LeBron Beats Garnett, 74-69

Instead of throwing our 5 guys at LeBron, leaving the rest of the Cavs open for easy buckets, we backed off. We didn't smother James until he got in the paint, and although he got a few easy buckets, the plan worked. The Cavs were held to 74 points on their home court, shot 32% as a team, and everybody in white not named LeBron shot 15-50. If I was any good at math I'd tell you...

Garnett's Raw, Relentless Intensity Unsettles, Scares and Mentally Exhausts Celtic Teammates

On the court he's a scowling, howling, prowling force of nature. Few modern athletes exude the unbridled passion of Kevin Garnett. But there are signs that Garnett's inability to throttle back his frightening intensity is beginning to take its toll on his teammates.

Rajon Rondo

Is it me or is Rondo on fire. When it matters he is stepping up. This is Rondos second year and he is scoring 20 points and 13 assists. That's really good. It might be me but i think Rondo will be a very good player.

My Friend Flickr

There's a well kept secret in Cleveland; he's stalking downtown with a zoom lens and an appetite for the visual. You've seen his work on And One before. That amazing shot of LeBron's dust ritual; C-Town sunsets; flying bikers.

Fire Sale on Raptors Point Guards

The Toronto Raptors' excellent young point guard Jose Calderon, who is a restricted free agent, is making big waves as he has basically told the Raptors that if they don't promise him the starting PG spot, to not even bother trying to bring him back.

Here We Go Again

The Celtics are once again up 3-2 in a playoff series. In the first series, the Celtics were expected to sweep the lowly Hawks and they appeared to be doing just that as they won the first two games at home by an average of 21 points. Then, they went on the road and inexplicably the Celtics went flat, allowing the Hawks to gain confidence and tie the game at 2 apiece. In Game 5,...

Not Enough Z, Too Much LeBron?

Talk about a tale of two halves. The Cavs enjoyed a 14 point lead in the second quarter, only to see it disappear on consecutive big shots by Rajon Rondo. Still, the Cavs were in position to win this game but couldn't get it done in the third and fourth quarters.

Some Game 5 Random Thoughts

Well, the Pistons have finished off the Magic in 5 games. They won on the road and they did it without Chauncey Billups. That should concern the Celtics in that they haven't been able to get it done on the road in 5 tries at full strength. Another thing that is concerning is that the Pistons are now sitting back and resting while the Celtics are going to have to go at least 6 games...

How Can Anyone Be A Lebron Fan After This?

Listen, I understand Lebron is fantastic! He is one of the top 5 players in the NBA, But after listening to his comments during last night's press conference, I don't know how you can cheer for a guy that only cares about himself. You may say it to your boys in private, but not publicly. I THOUGHT he was better than that.

NBA: Danny Ainge Executive Of The Year...Are You Kidding?

Hey I like the Boston Celtics and Danny Ainge just as much as the next guy and think the C's are the best team in the league but he's far from being the NBA Executive of The Year. Just look at www.rawsportsblog.com

the lebron photo of the day.

We Want Cleveland!

So, here we are back in the Eastern Conference Finals and opportunity is knocking on the door once again. Insert Cleveland. Yes, that's right…we want the Cavs in all their glory. We want the Cavs to dispel the bitterness of last season, to prove it was a fluke. To prove that we are still hungry, to prove that we can "flip the switch" and to close the door on an inferior...
