Found June 25, 2008 on Lansdowne 9:
When you think about bad drafts of the past 10 years, two teams come to mind. The Celtics and the Clippers. Now that the Green are basking in all kinds of championship glory and the Clips are back in the lottery, slotted at number 7 of tomorrow's draft, let's take a look at how each team could field a team of stiffs over the past 10 to 15 years. Center: Eric Montross vs. Michael Olowokandi The Red Flags were up on both of these guys coming into draft night. Montross, a big, plodding white guy came out of UNC with very limited athleticism. Olowokandi was a young man who played against inferior competition at Pacific, and had only played basketball for a few years before he was drafted. The Kandi Man's 8+ points per game takes it to Montross in this game: Advantage Clippers. Power Forward: Jerome Moiso vs. Melvin Ely Pitino loved Moiso's athletic ability, only problem was that ability blinded the fact that Moiso had no basketball skills or intelligence...

ESPNs Michael Weinreib on Len Bias

This is one great read. It wouldn't be a draft without another look back at Len Bias. I remember the day he died like it was yesterday.

Mockin the Draft

Forgive the apathy but since the Celtics won the title and they have the last pick in the first round, I just don't care as much this year. So I pretty much just put together the picks real quick, feel free to disagree I won't argue.

Lakers Got Rondo'd

The Boston Celtics are the 2008 NBA World Champions due mainly to a Game 6 total team effort, but as Phil Jackson will tell you Rajon Rondo was the star of the game. Jackson's best coaching in the series came in his Kobe roaming off Rondo scheme early in Games 3, 4, 5. This worked extremely well in Los Angeles with the Lakers getting off to great starts in Game 4 and 5 because...

Celtics Get 2 Players in Second Round

In a surprise move, Danny once again picked up a player in the late second round in a trade. Danny received Walker from the Wizards, who picked him 47th, for cash considerations. Walker is a 6'6", 235 lb small forward. Last year Walker was projected as a lottery pick before suffering another ACL injury. He's still very explosive, with an NBA body. If he can stay healthy...

First of all, thoughts and prayers go out to Tommy Heinsohn. According to Peter Vescey in the NY Post, Tommy is having an abdominal aneurism removed today. We love you Tommy! Get well soon. According to the Kansas City Star, Tyronn Lue is considering an offer from the Celtics. Lue is an unrestricted free agent. In the article he has this to say: "I've been talking...

Barstool Debate: Who is the worst #1 pick in the NBA's modern era?

As long as there have been barstools, there have been men sitting on those barstools arguing about sports. This week, John Paulsen and Anthony Stalter debate the worst #1 pick in the NBA's modern era. Is it the Wizards' pick of Kwame Brown or the Clippers' pick of Michael Olowokandi? They're both bad, but which is the worst? John: This is a tough call, but I'm going to...

Sixers drafted a "poor man's Elton Brand"

Just thought I would pass this along. According to Chad Ford of ESPN, Marreese Speights, who the Sixers drafted with the 16th pick in the draft, is going to be a great fit for the Sixers: I like this pick for Philly. Speights has a lot of talent and he fits a need for Philly. He's an excellent offensive player who can score in the post and facing the basket, and he can rebound...
