Each playoff series brings a playoff loser. On Saturday, my Bulls joined the ranks of the defeated. Now, I am now faced with a difficult question: For the remainder of the playoffs, should I throw my support behind the former enemy, the Celtics, or their opponent, the Magic? After a heated series, my natural response was to side with Dwight and the Magic. Like most homers, I detested everything that I felt Boston represented, from lousy fans and dirty players, like Rajon Rondo, to cocky scrubs, shown right. I grew to hate almost all of the Celtics, with the exception being Brian Scalabrine. (I challenge you to hate on a daywalker with a headband.) Though those feelings have begun to lessen, I don't think I'll be able to cheer for Garnett or Rondo.Still, I have found myself hoping for a win. A quick playoff exit wouldn't look good for the Celtics and, therefor, the Bulls. A loss would damage the legend of a great series while each series win builds upon it. Plus, I guess i...

Hey… Rajon Rondo is 22 year’s old today.
I just got back from the Cadillac dealership… I figured he’d like a Celtics green Escalade… but I’m going to return it… because I think he’s looking to give himself a gift tonight

Boston Area YMCA Member Continues Improbable Run Through NBA Playoffs

Waltham, Massachusetts resident and YMCA gym rat Brian Scalabrine.
Eastern Conference Semis - Game 1
The Celtics don't know how to accept gifts. Trailing by as many as
28 points in the 3rd quarter, the Celtics battled back to get to within
single-digits, but could not capitalize on numerous Orlando turnovers
down the stretch. In the end, the comeback came up short, and the
Celtics dropped another Game 1 at home, 95-90. Paul Pierce led the
Celtics with 23 points, but the...
Stock Up, Stock Down: NBA First Round
Stock Up: Rajon Rondo
Talk about your coming out partoes! Rondo has been the best point guard on the floor during the playoffs so far: he's averaging 21 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds through six games. Did anyone expect that from him? I sure as heck didn't. The guy has gone from a late first round pick that wasn't even considered the best point guard in his...
No suspensions for Game 7
The league won't be handing out suspensions to Rajon Rondo or Kirk Hibrich for their actions in Game 6. From the Globe: (http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/celtics_blog/2009/05/league_wont_pun.html)There will be no further action against Celtics guard Rajon Rondo and Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich for their altercation late in the first quarter of Game 6 of their...
Torture
I'd rather get waterboarded then watch another game like that. The Celtics fell behind by 28 points after a couple of horrible stretches in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. But because Orlando is a poorly coached team that continues to seek out three point shots even when holding a big lead, the C's made this a game. But as the Celtics whittled the lead down to single digits in the...
Start Scal
I swear I started this post at 7 AM with the intent on finishing it later in the morning and posting it for the lunch time web surfers. Imagine my dismay at 9:30 when I checked in on Celtics blog with the same headline and the same picture. Oh well... I'll chalk it up to great minds thinking alike. Here we are, down 1-0 (fyi, just like the Lakers), looking for a good adjustment...
We Are What We Are
It's time to embrace what the Boston Celtics are to the rest of the world. They're dirty. They get away with the things. They talk too much and foul too hard. And we Celtics fans... well... we're dirty, arrogant a-holes who illicit eye rolls at the mere hint of complaint. People even come here to point and laugh at how we react to games... even though every team...
Burn the bullpen to the ground
Right now...Everyone in it.. Burn it and burn it till there is nothing left. This is a disgrace. It's horrific to watch. That seventh inning was the worst excuse for a bullpen that I've ever seen.FOUR GUYS! COUNT EM AGAIN, 1, 2, 3, 4! FOUR GUYS CAN'T GET THREE OUTS WITHOUT GIVING UP SEVEN RUNS?I mean really? It's sad.. It really is.. I can't even begin to think....
Let's Not Focus On The Wrong Thing Here
It's very easy for us Celtics fans to focus on the furious second half comeback in which the Celtics. We're looking for the positive. We're looking for something to give us hope heading into game 2. That's what fans do in a game like that. But let's not make the mistake of focusing on the last 24 minutes of the game. What we should be looking at is the...
Keys To Boston Beating Magic? Rajon And Big Baby Need To Step Up
After weighing all the factors I believe that the Celtics will end as the victors of a well fought series but because of the loss of the “Big Ticket” Boston All-Star forward Kevin Garnett there will not be a Big Three this year. Instead Paul Pierce and Ray Allen will need help from else where to defeat Orlando. In this long time NBA observer’s view the two players that will...
Celtics Fan Shows The Love and Loyalty
Tonight in Boston, as the home team staggered off after a leg-dead first half that created a deeper hole than even the drama boys could overcome, what did Celtics Fan do? Boo. My dears, don't you know that only Philly Fan could do such a thing? Shocking! As for actual analysis here, the C's aren't going to win games, home or away, when Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen each shoot...
Boston Versus Orlando Preview
Eastern Conference Second Round#2 Boston (62-20) vs. #3 Orlando (59-23)Season series: 2-2Orlando can win if…Dwight Howard is dominant offensively (25-plus ppg while shooting .550 or better), the Magic's three point shooters perform well and if the Magic keep Rajon Rondo out of the paint, force Paul Pierce away from his midrange sweet spot and chase Ray Allen off of the three...
Go Deep, My Friend | WEEKEND SPORTS SELECT
Bruce Lee once said, "Be water, my friend." Well, to be water, you must be deep. Real deep.Work on your craft, no matter what it is that you do for your living. Because to be deep, you need to understand your game in and out. Strategically and tactically. Mentally and physically. Consciously and subconsciously. If you want to get into semantics, depth is a team thing...
