D'Antoni to the Knicks | Wrong Move

The Knicks are a slow, un-athletic bunch, which doesn't fit with D'Antoni's scheme. Unless some roster moves are made, I can't see much improvement from last season's disappointment.

The best way for the Knicks to be a winning franchise is to be a defensive team. If they played off other team's mistakes, that's when they can find success. When you're fast-breaking down the court, let it come off a turnover, or a big rebound. Then Marbury and Jamal Crawford can play their game, while Lee, Curry, and Zach Randolph score inside.

Mark Jackson would have been a better choice as Knicks coach. He was a former favorite and native New Yorker. Not to mention the positive effect he could have on Marbury. As disappointing as he's been, he's the starting point guard.

Seeing how Marbury and D'Antoni feed off each other this season will be the latest installment in the soap opera that is the New York Knicks.

ihave 1 ray and paul to dunk

soon teh knicks will be paying larry brown, isiah thomas, and d'antoni all to be coaching their team, and not one of them will be behind the bench

i think this is just the beginning of a whole lot of changes. I doubt they would bring in a whole new owner and coach and leave the roster as it is. Most likely they'll build around D'Antoni. You're right though that D'Antoni doesnt bring out the best in the current roster but personally I'm not passing final judgement until the trade deadline next season.

I'm a Knicks fan. I love defense, but today's NBA game is about offense. David Stern and a number of rule changes over the last ten years have made sure of that. He's turned the NBA into a Run & Shoot league because fans didn't appreciate defensive minded teams. Look at the Spurs and Pistons. They play D and because of it, no one wants to see them win. The Knicks might as well have one of the best offensive minds running the show. They don't have the personnel to play defense anyway, so that route didn't make much sense. Most important, we needed to hire a coach with an ALL NBA first team mustache. I think we've done that.
