Found March 13, 2008 on Give Me The Rock: Yardbarker Blogger Network
In yesterday's interview on NBA Roto, I predicted that Daequan Cook (-6.1) would go out in the Heat's very next game and shoot 2-10 and finish with 5 points. Well, he actually shot 2-9 and finished with 6 points. Close enough for me to toot my own horn. He did hit a couple threes and grab 8 boards, so it wasn't quite a biggest loser performance, but I believe this is the Daequan Cook we're going to see the rest of the year.

Cleveland

This past friday I went to Cleveland, to do an appearance for Topps. I did something that I have never done before, go to a card convention. It was called The National. There were alot of people there for trading cards and other sports memorabilia. It was really cool. Most of the time i was with ERIC from Topps, he is a cool dude. They made everything harmless and I had fun....

The Heat Can Score, When The Suns Defend

Last night the Heat beat the Suns with a pretty balanced scoring attack. But, this is a case where the stats are kind of off. Even though DWade didn't have to carry the team, the Suns don't play consistent defense, so Cook got open shots, most of their shots were open and easy. Daequan Cook can ...

NBA Age Rule Impacts Ohio State

As Greg Oden, Michael Conley Jr., and Daequan Cook deal with vastly different rookie seasons, the Buckeye basketball program rebuilds in a new era of college basketball.

Some Quick Notes

1. My Colts have been hit by the injury bug and I'm very worried about what we will look like at the start of the post season. 2. I assume quite a few of you who read my blog watch college basketball, lookout for Eric "EJ" Gordon this year. He should be a monster in the B10 this year. It's amazing how good our AAU team was a couple years ago... PG - Me ( Memphis...

Fantasy Basketball Desperation Station - 3/13/08

In this edition of Desperation Station, we take a look at Daequan Cook, Sasha Pavlovic and Nick Young.

Daequan Cook Shows How to Setup your Cuts

Watching some NBA games yesterday, caught part of the second half between the Miami Heat and the Atlanta Hawks. We know the Hawks are doing decent following their playoffs from last year. But the Miami Heat have really improved as well, most of it being due to Dwyane Wade being healthy.I highlighted this specific play not necessarily because it's any better of a play than any...

Video: Daequan Cook wins 3-point shootout in overtime

From ESPN.com comes highlights of Daequan Cook's 3-point shootout victory during the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend. It took an extra round for Cook to defeat Rashard Lewis in the finals.

MVP Showdown: Lakers vs. New Orleans Hornets

Chris Paul is the epitome of what a point guard should be in the NBA, the dude has as complete a game as I've seen since John Stockton. Although he may not win the MVP, he is as valuable to his team as any one player is in the NBA. The New Orleans Hornets enter the game at 43-20, in sincere pursuit of the Western Conferences best record which they trail by 1 ½ games. With a...

Jason Smith Tears ACL, Could Miss Season

Philadelphia 76ers' back up center Jason Smith tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a Las Vegas NBA camp. The injury will require surgery and Smith could miss the entire 2008-2009 season, according to his agent, Marc Bartelstein. "It's unfortunate that this happened, but Jason is resilient and he'll receive the best treatment available,...

Rumor: Carlos Boozer Set to Join Wade, Beasley in Miami ('09)

Dorell Wright's guaranteed two-year deal left the Heat with a little more than $50 million in 2009-10 contracts for 10 players (only Daequan Cook's $1.3 million is at Miami's option). That means ? unless multiyear deals are dumped ? the Heat likely will have a little more than $11 million next summer (if Shawn Marion isn't re-signed) to pursue a free agent such as...

NBA MVP: Lebron? Kobe? Garnett?

Who is this year's MVP. Annually we have the same debate of "what exactly is the MVP" the best or most valuable. It's getting closer to the end of the season, and it's about time to break down the top MVP Candidates.

Ignore that Man Behind the Curtain: Interview with NBA Roto.com

After getting Nels to give him an interview, NBA Rotoman finally hunted me down to be a part of the latest edition of "Buy or Sell", where we discuss pretty much the entire Miami Heat team as well as a New York Knick that you probably hate (the answer isn't all of them).

Day 133 of 170: Is it too late to pick up Ricky Davis?

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Already mentioned Ricky Davis, so next up would be Daequan Cook (4.07) with 23 points on 5 threes. He only shot 9/20, so he passes the 70% rule. He jumped from a season average of 20 minutes to 29 and 43 over the last 2 games. And his name is an uncommon spelling. Not that I know a common spelling of Daequan. I guess if you have a spot, go for it and...
