Having a player out of action is a regular occurrence with any basketball team and West, who has missed all 10 games the Cavs have played this season including the preseason, missed 18 games last season with injury. In fact, if you go to West's bio page on NBA.com, he's listed as being injured though technically he's on the Cavs inactive list for personal reasons.

Troubled Cavaliers guard Delonte West is doubtful for the season opener against the Boston Celtics.
Cleveland coach Mike Brown said after the team's shootaround that West would likely be inactive for Tuesday night's game.
West has battled bipolar disorder in the past and has had a turbulent off-season. He was arrested on weapons charges near his Maryland home in September.
