One of the by-products of the Billups-for-Iverson swap is that the Detroit Pistons will have a ton of cap space in the summer of 2010, when LeBron James and a number of high-profile free agents could potentially hit the free market. Henry Abbott of TrueHoop goes through the options. (Read the rest after the jump.)

I cannot see LeBron leaving Cleveland for Detroit. He has openly implied that his show will hit Broadway in the near future…playing at MSG.

Lebron to leave Cleveland who says tht heheheeeeeeeee u have to stop dreamin u guyz pls stop dreamin. This guy has not made the team to shine and he is the only one to make it shine. Cleveland this season was to have an MVP and tht must be Lebron. Not Detroit. To hell with Detroit.
  • Not likely ..Lebron feels he is ready for the Big Time and Big Tent ..but he should be wary of New York where the adulation can turn nasty. There will be a lot of pressure stemming from his kind of contract and awfully HIGH expectations. From that standpoint Cleveland, Detroit or Europe would be wiser. The NY media would eat Lebron alive and destroy him if his game doesn't measure up ...ask A-Rod.

Lebron isnt going to Detroit or New York, he's going to New Jersey in 2010 to play for his new BFF who goes by the name of Shawn Carter aka Jay-Z aka Hova aka Young H.O.!! Lol... Mark my words!

LeBron in Detroit with Iverson, Wallace, Prince and Stuckey. Scary.

LeBron should go somewhere with a good GM, like the Knicks (Walsh) and Pistons (Dumars).

And in 2010, there won't be a team in New Jersey, so LBJ can't really go there ...
  • all i say is woooow that is so dmn nice to have a.i., lebron, and rasheed wallace.

Part of what makes a potential LeBron signing possible in 2010 is that Iverson's huge salary will be off the books. It is very unlikely that AI would still be around if the Pistons were able to land LeBron.
  • Lebron wants to win a championship and Detroit is the place to do it. Not some crap team like the Knicks.
