Devean06
According to ESPN, Devean George will exercise his rare no-trade clause to block a proposed blockbuster trade that would have sent Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks. We chronicled the trade and its fantasy impact on FBP earlier today , but apparently it is NOT going to go through.

This may be the best D George has ever played.

I have to check with Shaq first, but there should be an ordinance code about allowing the worst player in a deal to block a trade.

Ha! I love it, "oh and by the way..." Completely irrelevant but I am proud of your Sixers none-the-less.

Then he goes out and shoots 0-11.
  • This guy is an idiot. I didn't even know he was still in the league. I couldn't stand him when he played for my team L.A. Lakers. He had two decent games against those scary nets in the finals 2002 and we reward him by a contract and over paying him. He needs to be in the East and on the nets. Thats where most of the NBA players on there way out go. This is his only claim to fame. It seems Popiovich won't need to stop this trade with his commitee.

There's still no way this deal DOESN'T get done. They'll just shuffle some players around, Kidd is still gonna be a MAV.

I agree, I doubt the deal will completely fall through. They will just change a few things but i doubt this will just end the trade for Kidd.

I don't understand why what the Mavericks did was conduct business as usual, and it's called business. But, when Devean George chose to exercise his business sense, he's being called selfish. Business is business and it's a two way street. Players are told not to take trades personal (it's just business). It would be bad business for Devean to accept this trade. It could cost him millions of dollars . He's not being selfish, he's just conducting business...

Perhaps that's why he went 0-11 from the field last night against the Blazers. He blames it on not being able to warm up before the game. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      0-11???? Good lawd!!!!
  • rcs360
Come on DG you got rings already. There will be a deal. Devin Harris in a Nets uniform after he signed an extension with the Mavs?
  • Is this organazation a joke or what?? First why would you gve this bum that much power in his contract??? Not only did he play last night...... HE STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Im not mistaken he was 0for 11!!!!!! He should've never allowed to enter the building. But we must remember who's the leader of this CIRCUS!!!! Mark Cuban!!!!

Kudos to George's agent for catching that. I think they will rework a deal somehow.

Well, it looks like the deal has hit another snag. Stackhouse said that he was only part of the deal "to make the numbers work." He'll be getting 30 days to rest then I'll be right back. The NBA will investigate if the Mavericks and Stackhouse violated league rules with a prearranged agreement for him to return to Dallas after a buyout in New Jersey and 30-day waiting period. NBA will consider forbidding Stackhouse to re-sign with the Mavericks this season. If that happens. the deal is dead.
