Years ago, I avoided Ron Artest. And if the Lakers were to sign him years ago, it would have divided a bonding team and absolutely demolished all chemistry.

Is Ron Artest an upgrade over the player he was unofficially traded for?
Yes.
But not by as wide a margain as people may think.
Compared to Trevor Ariza, Artest brings more toughness (an element the Lakers desperately needed), someone who can create his own shot, play either forward position interchangably, play better defense, and rebound better.

Every time I watch an interview with an NBA player, I think two things: a) I have too much time on my hands and b) what are these guys, oblivious?
