Pro Skills Basketball:
According this article, Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues is the shortest player ever to play in the NBA. Despite his size 5'3", he had attributes that made him successful:
-He had unreal heart and mental toughness
He was one of the few NBA players not to back down to the toughest player ever to play - Michael Jordan.
-He had Competitive Spirit
Bogues was competitive enough that his friends said that if you challenged him, he would challenge you back. This is something that most professional athletes are born with and Bogues would not let his size diminish his spirit.

-He had generated enormous power and speed
He compete on the court with players that were much taller and stronger. He proved that size is not everything and you can compete with the best athletes in the world if you have the heart of a champion.
He was an unbelieveable athlete. Despite being mentally tough and competitive, Bogues was obviously a tremendous talent at 5'3" and one of the best athletes to ever play in the NBA.

From Batman's Robin To Full Fledged Sports Agent
In the world of sports, B.J. Armstrong is not just known as a former sick complement player for the Michael Jordan led Chicago Bulls, nor as merely a mediocre analyst for ESPN. He has also made his way into the sports agent world, without the notice of many media entities. SLAM ONLINE recently talked to Armstrong, and spent a good amount of space covering his entry into this business...
Under Armour, Brandon Jennings, and the Next Epic Shoe Deal
In every generation, one athlete makes a bold move, laces up a new
pair of shoes never seen before, and does something that turns the
footwear industry on its head. In 1936, Adi Dassler came to the Berlin
Games with a suitcase of track spikes and persuaded Jesse Owens to give
them a try. When Owens won 4 gold medals, he was catapulted to
superstar status along with the adidas...
Michael Jordan: "If Someone Interpreted Me as a Tyrant, I'm Pretty Sure They're Appreciative Now"
The fact that Michael Jordan was a dominating and at times overbearing presence on his teams has been well documented, even if the images of him punching teammate Steve Kerr or being confronted by teammate Bill Cartwright never altered fans' adoration of him. In the October 2007 issue of GQ, Jordan tells interviewer Larry Platt that there was a method behind his conduct.
Michael Jordan could save the World
Great article from the San Diego Trib about how North Korea's Dear Leader is a huge NBA fan, especially Michael Jordan. I think that it's time Jordan started giving back to the country that made him a gazillionaire and go on a peace mission. There was supposed to be one planned a few years ago and Jordan respectfully declined. Stop being a pussy Jordan. Plus, maybe Jordan can get...

Merry Christmas. You're fired.
So the Chicago Bulls fired head coach Scott Skiles, today. On Christmas Eve! I always knew Jerry(s) Krause and Reinsdorf didn't have hearts, but geez...Also, Kobe is the fastest player to 20,000 points. Pretty amazing considering he exists in the same universe as Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan.
NBA 2K9 Announces the Return of Gilbert Arenas
Remember a few years back when it surfaced that Michael Jordan would be on the roster of the Washington Wizards in NBA Live 2002, BEFORE he actually announced coming out of retirement?

Michael Jordan’s mom has hops
Other than sounding like Mims when she says “Like this” a few times in a row, Deloris Jordan, Michael Jordan’s mother, looks like a badass when she throws its the rock down with a reverse jam.
Don’t you wish your mom was that cool?
Hat tip to NESW Sports.
Shabbat Shalom: Friday Wrap-Up
It is a week like the week I just endured that should make you happy that you are not yet a law student, have no plans to be a law student, or have finished the damn three year process and are now a practicing attorney. Today I had a persuasive brief due about whether a post-operative transsexual should be allowed to sue based on the close relationship element of a negligent infliction...
Kobe Bryant Shuts Down Leandro Barbosa, Team USA Routs Brazil 113-76
Remember when Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen took turns completely shutting down Croatia's Toni Kukoc in the 1992 Olympics? If you forgot what that looked like, Kobe Bryant provided a reasonable facsimile on Sunday, holding Leandro Barbosa to four points on 1-7 field goal shooting--and the lone make came when Bryant was not in the game--as Team USA defeated Brazil 113-76 to finish...
Would A-Rod Retire?
On October 6th, 1993 Michael Jordan suddenly retired despite being at the top of the NBA world. He had just come off his third championship, a gold medal, and his celebrity was bigger than ever. Despite all that, the death of his father and gambling allegations were enough to drive Jordan from ...

Hakeem Olajuwon's Journey From Nigeria to the Basketball Hall of Fame
This Friday, the Basketball Hall of Fame will enshrine seven new members: Adrian Dantley, William Davidson, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, Pat Riley, Cathy Rush and Dick Vitale. Each of these inductees has an interesting life story but Olajuwon's is certainly the most remarkable and unlikely: the Nigerian native did not even play basketball until he was 17. Prior to that, he...
High Flyers and Free Throw Shooting
High flying Hall of Famers from Elgin Baylor to Julius Erving to Dominique Wilkins--and future Hall of Famer Michael Jordan--are remembered fondly for their sensational swooping moves to the hoop, but an important part of their greatness was that when teams fouled them those players consistently made the opposition pay by sinking their free throws. Even if they were not good shooters...
