Dwyane Wade continued his assault on the NBA last night. As the video of his double-OT buzzer beater to lead the Heat over the Bulls shows, Wade is one of the top 3 players in the NBA and a legit candidate for NBA MVP with LeBron and Kobe. He is simply incredible.

Wade has been making Kobe look like a choir boy this past two weeks. If he keeps playing at this level, he's going to get that MVP.

Dwyane Wade and LeBron James are the 2 front runners for the M.V.P,Kobe is in 2nd, these guys have been carrying their teams on their shoulders all season,so it's kinda hard to pick who will win but it is sure fun to watch...

Kobe has a better supporting cast than either LeBron or DWade. Much better.

Remember when Kobe averaged 35 a game a few seasons back? All you Laker haters gave him no credit for winning games, despite playing with scrubs like Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, and Slava Medvedenko. He willed the Lakers to a 45-37 record in the WEST. That's about the same winning percentage as the Heat right now, but in a significantly more difficult conference and with less talent.

I'd rather have Chalmers, Haslem and Moon than Kwame, Slava and Smush.

Let's just agree that LBJ, Dwade and Kobe are all special talents and are all legit MVP candidates.

Wade has a worse supporting cast than LeBron James or Kobe. There is no Mo Williams on the Heat that can score 30 on any given night. Wade scores the majority of the points and is gets 10 - 15 pts from three or four other players. That's being the Most Valuable Player for your team - doing more with less.

yeah, is fun to watch...best group of NBA studs since the late 80's, or Before Jordan...a man on another plane
  • Its like everyone forgot who this guy was just because he was injured. He took his team to the playoffs as a rookie (not Lebron). He has a ring on his finger for doing his best MJ impression in the NBA finals (not Lebron). And now he is taking a team that was about as good as my high school team last year to the playoffs this year. If ESPN didnt talk about the same 2-3 players/teams all year long this post would have been put up months ago.
  • RoytheBoy
Wade is amazing, but the Heat won't finish better than 4th in the east (which doesnt take much). There's no way you win the MVP with that record.
    • MiamiSportsGen
The MVP award should have little to do with a team's record. I know it's debatable as to what what factors should be considered, but I don't think record should be a big one. The essence of the word Most Valuable Players implies that you are the biggest reason why your team is doing well - not the reason that your team is #1 or #2. If Wade were on the Cavaliers, I'm sure they would have the same record as they do today. They have better talent surrounding Bron, and that should not be a reason why he's MVP over Wade.
  • Bobcats
Wade and LBJ your 2008-2009 co-MVP"s

Have to kind of agree with the comment from RoytheBoy. The Heat's record will stand in the way of him winning the award outright. Going to have to hit the playoffs.

I'm just hoping the Mavs make it. They put some distance between them and the Suns last night for that 8th spot. Don't think they will make it far once they get in, but I had doubts about them getting in at all a few weeks ago. Kidd is playing a lot better this season.
  • DoWork
DWade doesn't get near the respect that Lebron and Kobe get, so he's goin off... DO WORK DWade!
  • BuckeyeFan4Lif
Yea do work for a team that has 15 or so less then bron and kobes team! LBJ has outplayed him everytime they played! And last year LBJ was best player on court but bc kobe never won an mvp and his team had a better record he got it! now this year 28.1 7.5reb and 7.0ast and is shooting 78% from the line while playing less minutes then both players

Kobe scored 81 in a game and wasn't named MVP.
Kobe averaged 35.4 ppg in a season and wasn't named MVP.
Kobe led a team that NO ONE expected to go deep into the playoffs into the NBA Finals. He deserved the MVP.

LeBron or Dwade will probably win the MVP award this season. LeBron has a sick game that is growing leaps and bounds. And he is physically unmatched in this league. Wade is imposing his will on games, and has been going off all season (funny how no one is talking smack about his 30 shots a game though).

Sure, can't go wrong with any of the three next 5-10 years...LeBron is missing one piece...that mid-range consistecy...Boston and LA can expose that...like last Friday night...Pierce hindered him...being fair, those two teams I mentioned can water his game down, say 4 of every 7 games...Dude is such a Beast however...I still think LBJ can play in the NFL, no joke...but, it's Wade this year, and he should get Comeback player as well

yea the question mark at the end of the title is unnecessary. he's been in it since day one even though lebron and kobe get all the ink. this is the season that we expected from him after getting finals mvp. he is proving night in and night out that he is unguardable. good lookin out wade!

D-Wade has had a spectacular season thus far and if folks think about it, it started last summer during the Olympics. He and LeBron James were the reason the USA brought home the gold. Deciding who is the league MVP is tricky due to what's exactly factored into the decision. Leading the league in scoring isn't the only determining factor, it's a part of the equation. All you have to do is check when Michael Jordan averaged 37 points a game, or the year Bernard King averaged 32. Although those were great season by both players, neither won the MVP that year. Wade's obstacle will be is he making his teammates better. LeBron & Kobe are doing that. There have been nights where LeBron & Kobe didn't light the scoreboard up but their teams still won. D-Wade has to be Superman for his team to even stand a chance. If you look at the comment up above left by Miami Sports Gen, he's right on point. Wade is the MVP of his team. Now please understand, I love D-Wade so don't think I'm coming down on him, I'm merely trying to shed some light on how the MVP is decided. Even if he isn't chosen the league's MVP, he is certainly among the elite. I'd say top 3 percentile easily.
  • please..relax..grant he has had some great nites of late...but still not MVP..cmon on the real its between Kobe & LeBron..with Kobe slight edge..Wade is cool no doubt & much respect but it isnt the same as the other 2. Wade goes to the Garden the atmosphere isnt the same. Kobe &LeBron shows up people are actually making a point to go! At Best runner up to those 2..cmon...relax...you werent saying this at the beginning of the season why ru on the wagon all of a sudden? lil to late...

the Dude is En Fuego...man, DWade really is making an 08'/09' statement, as the media had this HOF "all washed up, and done last year"...yeah, He is front-runner for MVP, hands-down, enhanced by the recent blitz...just for the simple fact of Supporting cast; the core factor, or should be, in choosing the MVP the right way...no knock on Kobe/LeBron, but those two have other really good players around them...and D-Wade is like that team's Father this year, with the rooks, and well, the whole team...another determining factor...good to see this guy make this comeback from a bad season last year...and the dude also has that ring...MIA would have 18 wins, tops, without him...they will be a 6 or so seed with him...a third factor

LeBron James another triple double and yes it was the Clippers but still a another triple double,Dwyane Wade is Back and gots a chip on his shoulder and a Swagga in his Step since the Olympics,Kobe is just that Kobe whatelse do you expect from him and These 3 are gonna go back and forth until the end of the season. This is why We watch the NBA,I really can't decide on who is the MVP,it seems like every other day one of these dudes are putting on a clinic and it is so fun to watch..
