Five Guys I Sort Of Still Wish Were In The NBA

Like many sports fans, I'm a big 'what if?' guy. Coming up with scenarios that could possibly happen is usually infinitely more exciting than the what actually happens. That's why I write mock drafts even if I only get four picks right in the first round. Then again, Mel Kiper only got eight right and Todd McShay only nailed six and they seem to waste a lot more time thinking about the NFL Draft than I do. Just saying.

Anyway, long time cohort and occasional colleague, Harvey Bars, and I have spent many a late night in some diner spouting off arbitrary top five sports related lists in an effort to an entertain ourselves. None of these lists have been nearly as enjoyable as the time we watched a ten year old kid try to unsuccessfully throw his body into an Escalade without the use of his arms, but since I don't have a video of that, I'll just share one of these lists instead.

1 Tree Rollins; because he tried to bite off one of Danny Ainge's fingers
2. Darryl Dawkins; best nicknames for himself; ie Chocolate Thunder
3. Will Perdue; the Forest Gump of the NBA, won titles with the Bulls and Spurs not because of his exceptional talent but because of good fortune
4. Craig Ehlo; just to see who would be hitting game winning shots over him today
5. William Bedford; why should the NFL have all the trainwrecks?

I wish Anthony Mason, Ron Artest, and Rodman played in the league at the same time.
Hilarity would ensue!

For 12 games of the 99-00 season, all three were in the league at the same time when Rodman played for the Mavs and Artest was a rookie and yes they are the 12 most hilarious games in NBA history.

Aw man... I would love to see rodman... He was a nut...
I agree with the kings fan, after artest wen't in the crowd, and when artest swung at his coach him and rodman would of surely wen't at it.

Rodman of the mid-late 90's going at it against late 80's Lambeer.

Derrick Coleman. Sherman Douglas. Rony Seikaly. Manute Bol. Kareem.

Dewane shcinshist of the nets looking like he come out for a PSYCH WARD,Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf Nuggets had turets syndrome tied his shoes like 23 times before every game and his shot was the shit watch about Vernon Maxwell, Xavier Mcdaniel, THUNDER DAN MARJLE

Magic Johnson (my all-time fave), George Gervin (so cool it hurt to watch him), Gus Williams (throw that ball out there and catch up to it, why don't you), James Worthy (come on now), and Pete Maravich (back from the dead AND retirement). Runners up: Dan Majerle, Rick Mahorn, Chares Barkley, Bernard King, and Kevin Johnson. TOO many to pick from!

Rod Strickland,Tim Hardaway, Steve Francis.

What about this knick... Larry Johnson? I loved it when he ran down the court throwing up his big "L".

1. Drazen Petrovic

I was going to say Petrovic. But I thought two deceased guys might be a bit morbid. Great pic, Ursoprtspro. Don't know if people remember how valuable he was to the league.
