TEAMS: Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets have released Gerald Green to make room for a front court player because of injuries to Carl Landry and Yao Ming. I really feel bad for Gerald. He was so excited to be going to Houston from Minnesota. He said it was a dream come true and now he is a player without a team. Maybe another team who need scoring will pick him up for the rest of the season, but he probably will need to prove himself to a team in the off season to get any kind of deal. He may even need to go to the D-League in order to get enough experience to make another NBA roster. I like Gerald. He has a ton of potential but hasn't yet figured out how to transfer that potential into solid play. He had the Slam Dunk contest going for him last season, but now doesn't even have that. I really hope he can pick up his career somewhere and finally find his place in the league. Wherever he goes, I wish him luck. Here is a look at Gerald in better days for him.

What If Usain Bolt And Michael Phelps Played College Football?
Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps are the unquestionable, undeniable, unequivocal and any other un-word you want to toss in there, stars of the Beijing Olympics. Nuggets vs. Rockets: Game 58 Preview
(Boulder-CO) The Rockets have seemingly been unaffected by losing their star player, Yao Ming, and I have an explanation for it. Ming is the most non-vocal and unassuming superstar in the NBA today. Now, have the Rockets been able to compensate for the loss of a player that was of a handful in the lea...

Nate Robinson's ego-ectomy
Everyone saw Nate Robinson stuff Yao Ming last week, right? He should have been able to ride the coattails of that effort for at least a year, maybe more. Unfortunately, he came up with this equally un-clutch effort only a few days later. Watch the video on Basketbawful. It would have been sweet if he didn't travel...or if the Knicks weren't 6-11.
Ehadadi Gettin' Grizzly
Less than two weeks ago I reported about a 7?2 Iranian who had made a big-time impression in Beijing during the Olympics. Hamed Ehadadi led the Olympics in blocks and rebounds per game and proved to scouts that he has the talent to play at a high level. Up until two weeks ago, no Iranians were allowed to play in the NBA because of American government sanctions. The big Iranian'...

So what would the top 10 look like? I had a great argument about this with someone recently and we honestly couldn't figure it out -- definitely Yao and Tiger,...

Day 68 of 170: The Day I watched the debates instead of basketball
I do make it a rule, though, to not talk about politics - especially not on this blog - so I'll just say I watched both the Republicans and the Democrats and not the Bulls and we'll leave it at that.
Line of the Night: Josh Smith (5.42) just edged Yao Ming for his 3rd LotN (along with several Honorable Mentions). 34 points on 63% shooting (60% from the line) with 9 rebounds...

In one of the most bizarre and protracted firings in NFL history, the Oakland Raiders have finally fired head coach Lane Kiffen after he compiled a 5-15 record. Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo has signed a five-year, $10 million endorsement deal with STARTER, which is believed to be the biggest footwear and apparel deal in NFL history. The Artest Factor
I'm calling the Ron Artest trade the most intriguing move of the offseason. It will be very interesting to see how it turns out. It all depends on whether we see Good Ron or Bad Ron...What to expect if Good Ron shows upBy "Good Ron", I am referring to the player who came to Sacramento midway through the 2005-06 season. The Ron who told Rick Adelman (coincidence?) that...
