The refs and the league want to see the game decided by the players, not a whistle. I know that, you know that, the players know that. Derek Fisher did technically foul Brent Barry, but as long as we all know the league's stance and what to expect, it's a perfectly level, fair playing field. Get over it.

Fixing The NBA's Image Problem

No, not that image problem. There are plenty of 60 year old white men worrying about that. I'm talking about something that's actually a serious problem for the NBA, the refs. We bitch about football refs, baseball umps, and hockey refs all the time. Right now MLB umpires are under fire for a slew of botched home run calls. But, do we ever think that the NFL, MLB, NCAA, or NHL referees...

Foul on Derek Fisher or No Foul?

I suppose another way of asking the same question is: should the refs be blowing the whistle that late in the game? In case you missed the close play or want to see it again, here it is, because it's pretty clear there's a lot of contact. That looks a lot like a foul, and [...]

Derek Fisher and Lakers Luck Out Big Time!

NBA Playoff Rant from the Muffin: The Los Angeles Lakers just won game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on a veeery controversial call. Down by two with a few seconds to go Brent Barry of the Spurs received the inbounds pass and Derek Fisher jumped in the air and CLEARLY bumped Barry before he went up for the shot. I know refs don't want to influence the end of the game...

NBA Says, "Oops, Sorry Spurs!"

I know we've all heard this news by now. And the reply from the Spurs is a big, fat, "Thanks! We feel much better knowing you feel that way." But it's not so much that I want to talk about the missed call as I want to discuss: WHAT THE HECK WAS JOEY CRAWFORD DOING WITHIN 100 YARDS OF THE SPURS after the fiasco with Tim Duncan that got him suspended last year? Who...

Is Kobe Back Being His Alleged Self?

In case you haven't hear, Kobe Bryant is back (allegedly) being his estranged (allegedly), adulterating (allegedly) self. This time, Kobe (the alleged banger) has been named in a post by the website TheDirty.com of having an affair with 18 year-old Laker cheerleader (the alleged bangee) Vanessa Curry. And Kobe is fighting back....

Kobe Bryant vs. Tony Parker: Who Rocks the Mic Better?

Kobe may currently have the upper hand in the series, but Parker took a better approach behind the Mic. Check out Kobe's long forgotten single, K.O.B.E., compared to Parker's latest French rap confusion.

Manu Ginobili Has Disappeared

Sure injuries have played a role in Manu Ginobili's poor play in the Western Conference Finals. It doesn't change the fact that his poor play has doomed the Spurs, and the Lakers now hold a 95% advantage according to the numbers.

Kobe can jump over anything

First it was the moving Aston Martin and now it is a pool full of snakes. With the help of the Jackass Crew comes the new Hyperdunk video.

Western Conference Finals: Los Angeles Lakers in Control

Kobe Bryant scored 28 points (without a taken free throw) and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Lakers past the Spurs 93-91 last night. The road win ended the Spurs 13-game home winning streak. The Lakers came out and got into a good offensive rhythm early, making five of their first seven shots. The Lakers went on an 18-4 run, led 22-8, and never looked back.

NBA Playoffs: Lakers Win Again, Take 3-1 Lead to Los Angeles

ESPN called Game Four the Spurs' "Last Stand". It very well may have been, as the Lakers are heading back home one win away from returning to the NBA Finals. San Antonio hopes they can right the ship as they face www.rawsportsblog.com

Kobe Explains Soaring Slam Over Snakes

Kobe Bryant explains how he was able to slam dunk over a pool full of snakes - and this time, there was no help from Hollywood.

Lakers vs. Spurs: Game 4 Preview

Game three was a must-win game for the Spurs and the defending champs stood up to the challenge. The Spurs had to regroup after that 30 point beat down the Lakers put on them because if the Lakers had won game three, this series would've been over. The Spurs needed to score more points and were looking gassed. In game three, the Spurs not only knocked down shots, they knocked...

Why Not a Pistons-Lakers NBA Finals?

Why not upload Bad Boys v. Showtime 2.0? It worked out for Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas pretty well, and it would have just as many compelling story lines. Can Kobe do it without Shaq against the last squad that relishes team defense? With another championship, will we have to regard Rasheed Wallace as one of the best forwards to play in the last 25 years?
