The much rumored Shawn Marion trade that would send him to the Dallas Mavericks seems to be nearing completion. ESPN is reporting that the trade could be reported to the league office on Thursday.
The new deal has Shawn Marion going to the Mavericks in a sign-and-trade and receiving a five year deal worth around $50 million. Jerry Stackhouse would go from Dallas to the Memphis...

DALLAS -- The Dallas Mavericks announced today they have signed SMU-ex Quinton Ross. Ross (6-6, 193) joins the Mavericks after spending the 2008-09 season with Memphis. A native of Dallas, Ross averaged 14.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 119 games at SMU.
Marion to Mavs, Stackhouse to Grizz in big trade
Shawn Marion is headed to the Dallas Mavericks, Jerry Stackhouse is going to the Memphis Grizzlies and Hedo Turkoglu is going to Toronto Raptors in a complex deal involving four teams.
The deal, announced Thursday, involves five other players, a draft pick and cash.

Mark Cuban’s computer screen apparently told him this was a good idea, and he pulled the trigger on a rather complicated deal to acquire Marion. Involved in the transaction are the Mavs, Raptors, and either the Grizzlies or Thunder.
