He is a couple of steps slower but on international games he'll show you poise and good passing. This comes with experience and the natural ability that Mr. Triple Double has in abundance. He's not in there to be a race horse. He's there to be a stable presence that knows fundamentals and what to do with the ball.

so experience counts for nothing, being able to always find the right guy is also not important? jason kidd is one of the best pg's to ever throw on a pair of sneakers and u say he'll be the main reason we lose... I concur. J Kidd is a great veteran pg and by you guys saying he will be the reason means you must have missed the last decade of b-ball.

Hoopman and bigmike - have you been watching the games? It just doesn't seem like Kidd is gelling with this team. He's not a great shooter, penetrator, or defender these days. Kidd's game game is to get the ball immediately, push it up the floor, and find open players. He's not adding anything in the half court set and with team USA anyone from the 1-4 spot can push it up the floor. DWill is nice!

2) Wade (Redd)
3) Kobe (Melo)
4) LeBron (Boozer)
5) Howard (Bosh)

And I'm not too worried about Kidd, though. Coach K will play the players who give us the best shot of winning the gold.

he wasnt put on the team to score, he was put on the team to provide leadership and pass, thats wheres hes most valuable, everyone on that team knows that and completely agrees, paul and deron are practicly giddy about it cuz they are learning from one of the best, besides, its exhibition!!! no game they have played so far means anything

He can provide his leadership from the bench because he's holding the team back on the court. Kidd was good when he was pushing the tempo and leading the break. He's not doing that now.

the thing about kidd is his uncanny ability to always find the right man at the right time, as a veteran, he knows the consequences of making a bad play so hes always pushes to make the right move, its then up to whomever he dishes to, to do the right thing , pretty much what a pg should do, hes the only gold medalist on that team, his job is to set the pace until he gets out then its up to paul and deron to speed it up and break open the lead
